Everyone has a bucket list, but not everyone fully checks off every item one by one. I have a rule I live by; check off at least one item a year. I think that simple goal will help anyone feel more accomplished, even if its the smallest goal in the world. Like, visit a state, or paint something, or loose 5 pounds. DO IT. It doesn't matter what it is, if checking off that one item will make you a happier person, just do it. Whatever the obstacles that are in the way, knock every one of them down. Americans have a tendency to ignore their personal needs and they put work before their life. I think that we should do what we love, but also realize that we are working to be able to pay to do the things we want to do. We save up for trips, to travel around the world, so why not, at least, start saving now? Put away 10% or a certain percentage of your pay check away for travel. We need fun in our lives, and we surrender ourselves to a work-ethic lifestyle, no wonder Americans are so unhappy. We are making money, but we are sacrificing happiness. So if you don't have a bucket list by now, you are never too old or too young to create one, and start checking off the items on your list. Be creative, have fun, live your life. I mean, that's what we are here for, right? To open our minds and our imaginations to a world we never thought could ever exist. Now it can exist, and you can make it happen. Make your dream come true, say yes.

Worth a million dollars
What would you do if you had a million dollars? Some people would say that they would donate a lot of it, they would travel, they would start a business, they would go on a shopping spree, they would buy everything they have ever wanted. But people need to realize that money runs out. I would donate, I would travel, I would put away money, I would move out and get my own place. I would get a car. But how much would that all add up to? Money is a very important part to today's economy, and my final thoughts are - what would you do for a million dollars? Money is never as important as love, but the world we live in today comes at a price. So live your life as freely and happily as you can, and find a job you like or love to do, so that you want to get up every morning. Would you rather spend endless hours doing something you dont like, or doing something you do like? And I am going to leave you with one question; what do you want to do with your life? Whatever answer popped up in your mind, I say do it.
What life teaches us.
Life teaches you many lessons along the way, and you learn many new things as you grow up. Recently, I have been learning about success and life lessons. We are reading Tuesday's with Morrie, and that book is teaching me so much. Morrie has taught me that love is more important than success and money, and in the end, love is the only thing that can help us. Money is a material object that will eventually run out, but love will live on forever. We have to find our passion in life, and never let it go. We have to reach for the stars, to be happy. Well, you dont have to, but if you really want to be happy, you should listen to your heart. Never let anyone tell you that you cant do it, because they are trying to put you down. Like yourself, and the rest will follow.

A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnolly
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly is a fictional book based on a real murder mystery that happened in 1906. This is a wonderful book that creates such vivid details that it is impossible to ignore. I would recommend it to any teenager who loves to read a good mystery. I would also recommend it to anyone who has a thirst for a good, entertaining read, and anyone that is looking to pass the time. This book is quite entertaining; with its unique characters, original storyline, and its passion for truth. Jennifer Donnelly uses a great wide range of vocabulary, so you also learn the meaning of many different words through out the book. Jennifer Donnelly commonly writes young-adult fiction. Donnelly is 49 years old, and has won the Carnegie Metal in Literature Award. The main character, Mattie Gokey is a very intelligent young woman who eventually moves to New York to go to Barnard College to become a writer. Mattie Gokey is a teenager living in 1906 New York. She moves to the city. She ends up working at a hotel where she meets a very mysterious woman named Grace Brown.
Grace Brown asks her to burn a bundle of letters, and gives them to her.
Little did Mattie know, those letters were the answer to the many
questions of the mystery behind the murder of Grace Brown.
"Whenever summer comes to the North Woods, time slows down. And some days its stops altogether. The sky, gray and lowering for much of the year, becomes an ocean of blue, so vast and brilliant you cant help but stop what you're doing..." (Page 1)
"To Amsterdam and Albany and beyond. To New York City. To my future. My life." (Page 380)
This book has inspired me to follow my dreams. It has also taught me to stand up for what I believe in, because a big symbol in the book is education, and women's rights. I honestly respect Mattie Gokey, because she left everything behind to go somewhere she had not been, and even though she may have been scared, she still did it. She gave it her everything, and in the end, it all paid off. After everything she had been through, she still kept her head held high, which was also a strong message to me, because I have been through a lot in my life, as well. So I am inspired to stay strong, like she did. This book was a joy to read, and I am glad that I have picked it.

They Will Do Anything To Make Money
This Ad tries to "hook the audience" by showing a picture of two happy people, smoking. They are trying to lure people in to think that they will be happy if they smoke, and the will find true love, if they smoke. When, in reality, these are just paintings of the real thing. And even though this ad is old, they are all trying to sell the same thing; lies. Even though the target audience may be a bit older, and harder to convince, they added text at the bottom of the add. They say that these cigarettes have "less" nicotene. Now, that could convince a middle-aged person who already smokes. They are also trying to attract audiences that already smoke, to make them think that they will be happier if they smoke this brands cigarette, instead of the brand they are already smoking. There are many other things that are being sold, many things that are not visible to the eye. The ad is selling happiness, or the idea of being happy. They know that everyone wants to be happy, or look as pretty as the people in the poster or magazine, thats why the people are spokesmen/women! They give the whole object a face, and the face is everything. Without a "pretty" face, there are not sales. (In most cases, not all.)
This ad shows a bunch of different types of men, and is trying to appeal mostly to men, (but women could be attracted to the handsome men, and suddenly want to buy a cigarette.) But the picture shows happy, popular, good-looking men, all hanging out and having a cigarette. The image tries to sell the fact that "all men could be this, or that..." as long as they have a, "Chesterfield King Size Cigarette." They are selling the image of the viewers dreams, which creates a very tempting argument. All of the men are baseball players, so it also shows that "you could be strong to!" or, "a cigarette creates a good smile!" They are trying to sell many different things to young men; but the image is the most important sale of all. The image is everything.

The Moment of Truth
The effervescent sun started to set,
as night fall began to escape the day,
my silhouette began to bleed into the background,
as the yellow sun said goodnight to the world,
In that one moment,
I felt as happy as the child I once was,
the cold wind blew through the curls in my hair,
as my heart beat slowed down,
I watched the mountains become part of the midnight sky,
I closed my eyes, and opened them once more,
the captivating colors began to fade,
the colors of red and orange blended together,
as if the sky were a canvas,
In that one moment, I was at peace,
for the first time in my life
as night fall began to escape the day,
my silhouette began to bleed into the background,
as the yellow sun said goodnight to the world,
In that one moment,
I felt as happy as the child I once was,
the cold wind blew through the curls in my hair,
as my heart beat slowed down,

for the first time in my life
The Beginning of Something New
I am a paved road, In a forest,
I stand out from everything around me,
I am surrounded by sameness,
in a green world, I am a white line,
a gray road in the middle of nowhere,
but I am going somewhere,
I do not know where I will end up,
but the destination is not what I represent,
because I could lead to a city, I could lead to the desert,
I could be taken to the wrong place, but that doesnt matter,
because,
I stand out from everything around me,
I am surrounded by sameness,
in a green world, I am a white line,
a gray road in the middle of nowhere,
but I am going somewhere,
I do not know where I will end up,
but the destination is not what I represent,
because I could lead to a city, I could lead to the desert,
I could be taken to the wrong place, but that doesnt matter,
because,
the destination is not the end, but I am the beginning.
