The Giver Post

A perfect society does not exist, but The Giver tries to use an example of what a perfect society might look like. The problem is; the society is not perfect. There are many flaws because the giver's society has gotten rid of emotions so that people wont have to feel pain, but without pain, there would be no compassion. The community has lost most of its individuality because they deny any rights to the people, and give it all to The Reciever. The people do not miss these emotions because they do not know that they have ever existed. That is one of the many flaws of this so called, "perfect society."
